The brief
A live event that had to reach people who were not in the room, cut as it happened rather than assembled afterwards.
The brief was not production value. It was a picture that does not stop, week after week, on a rig volunteers can be handed.

Production specification for Multicam, cut live
One control position
Cameras were positioned to cover the platform, the room and a tight lectern angle, and cut live on a switcher by a director watching all of them at once. A clean feed came off the sound desk and was blended with an ambient pair, so the room sounds like a room rather than a recording booth.
Redundancy on every critical path
Second camera, second recorder, second internet route. Isolated recordings of every camera run alongside the live cut, so a highlights edit is possible afterwards without going back to anyone.
The stream has one job, which is not to stop.
